I do realise some people buy a Touch specifically because technically it can act as a server and no PC is required. But really, it is way underpowered to run a large library (even 75 albums, IMO). It is intended for a few "favourite" albums on a small USB stick/SD, rather than a large USB HDD.
I don't think there is much of a way around this.
