I second Phil's recommendation to leave the drive attached and on. It is not using a great deal of electricity and left this way it just plain works. I have 22k+ FLAC files and use Tiny SBS w a 1TB Toshiba drive-recommended by IPhone sp? and its fine.
I do not believe that Logitech has oversold what the Touch will do, while they may have left a lot of detail out of product description it does work. Documentation/operating instns are less than one would normally expect when purchasing a product. Certainly there are aspects of the Touch that could be better. To pursue those one should use the official Logitech forum where you may have more impact in getting an improvement. In the meantime, the folks here do a fantastic job of offering advice on how to resolve issues and get smarter about how to best use these products.I wish you success in becoming more comfortable with using your Touch. There is a tremendous amount of useful information in these forums and I encourage you to use this resource to hopefully make your experience more enjoyable.
