Good luck. Personally it sounds to me that for the functionality you
want, a portable player that holds more than 17G is the way to go. But
then again I've been doing the card-reader method for moving songs to
SD cards - the two step management process that Craig suggested mainly
because I like picking different music for different trips. Or
podcasts. And I could never conceive of music software being smart
enough to randomly pick and sync for me.

Anyways, as I understand it, FAT32 used 32k clusters by default, and
FAT32 is the only FAT you can use for drives over 2Gig, n'est pas?
