I'm surprised you can't set up a separate device playlist in Media Player. The Napster player I use syncs automatically in WinXP whatever songs you have specified for up to 3 different devices. Still, its a lot quicker with a card reader.
To format with 32k allocation in WinXP you need to use the device management utility. This from an old Alli post: Click on the Start menu in XP (not sure how from any other os), and then right click on My Computer. (It has to be done from the start menu, and not just the desktop icon.) From there choose Manage and a new window will open up. On the left you will see System Tools, Storage, and Services. Under Storage go to Disk Management. Your card will show up on the right under Volume (provided it's either in a card reader that can see it, or you have Card Reader, or a similar app, running). Right click on the card drive and go to Format. From there you can change the Allocation size. Pretty simple and well worth the speed.
