Marking email as urgent or priority is for the recipient, not the sender. When you send something out labeled thusly, it will show up before things that the recipient might value as more of a priority, and usually with a big red exclamation point, or other such marking.
You just don't mark something priority because it is a priority for you, but something that should be a priority to your recipient. Like when the boss sends out an email reminder about a due date and hasn't begun to see any work yet!
