Vishal, In Microsoft Outlook & Outlook Express, when you mark an item as "high priority / importance" it puts a large red exclamation point on the message which then (in my case) puts your email to the top of my email list (above my regular client correspondence.
This happens to anyone who gets your email (for the most part). Why is this a problem for the average person on this list? Anyone who is using a personal email address for this list will have your original email as high priority, and all the responses are also high priority. So, when I check my email, I see the high priority email, along with several other responses that come on top of my normal business related emails. I might have a client delay due to reading the high priority emails (which in my case wouldn't be high priority). Please let us know if your still not understanding why this could be an issue. If the case was as what you explain then why would high priority option be given while composing an email? If there is something important for the group to see then anybody would mark it "High Importance". When you send something out labeled thusly, it will show up before things that the recipient might value as more of a priority, and usually with a big red exclamation point, or other such marking. You just don't mark something priority because it is a priority for you, but something that should be a priority to your recipient. Like when the boss sends out an email reminder about a due date and hasn't begun to see any work yet!
