Rob, I think you make a very good point. There seems to be a lot of hatred in general when it comes to platform choice. This is nothing new, I remember bitter debates about this sort of thing almost 20 years ago! I guess at this point in my life I've moved on. I use what works best for me. I'm agnostic when it comes to this stuff. If it means that I'm supporting an "evil" company like MS, or a "snobby" company like Apple, so be it, I don't have the time or energy to get personally and emotionally involved in what is really a matter of personal taste and what works best for someone. But I to feel like there are these "talking points" against this device or that platform and when I compare it to my own experience it doesn't ring true. That's because there are bound to be issues with any OS and any device. Some of these issues will get lots of press, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are either more important or more prevalent, it just means the hook was better. I don't believe there are any studies out there that indicate battery life of iPhone's is about one year, are there? If not, it's all heresay and anecdotes. Same is true, in my opinion, with the ease of use and stability of Windows Mobile. People bad-mouth it all the time, but when was the last time they spent more than a few minutes handing a device with Windows Mobile on it? And did they generalize from that one device with WM to all devices that have WM on it? For whatever reason, many people are quick to make judgements that are negative without really analyzing things critically. They decide they hate something and then they continue to reinforce their opinion by only looking at the negative issues and criticisms. It's kind of sad, but I guess it's human nature. I at least attempt to be objective. Certainly there are some devices I dislike, but who am I to say that they may not be the perfect device for someone else who has different tastes and needs?
