Actually, that's how I got to this point. I had another conflict
problem and decided the best route was start over. I "doctored" the Pre,
and most everything's working fine - except this little thing of the
"advanced" launcher patches not installing. What's most frustrating is
the ones you described are exactly what I need. I have seven panels.
Before doctoring the phone, I used the numbered tabs. I've tried to
install the numbered tabs, the multi-function advanced patch you
mentioned, and the named tabs patch, and all do the same thing - they
appear to download, but report, for instance, "1 out of 3 hunks failed."
Weird.
And I'm on the road and have not the patience right now to doctor
it again.
I might, OTOH, uninstall the other launcher patches and see whether
that eliminates a conflict.
