Remember that society doesn't need to switch to free software suddenly,
you can actually recommend, teach, and install free software that has
kindly made available for non-free system distributions, like:
* GNU IceCat for web browsing.
* LibreOffice for office productivity.
* Mailpile for email reading and writing.
* VLC for media playing.
* GNU Gnucash for accounting.
* Gedit for plain text editing.
* uGet for download management.
* qBittorrent or Deluge for torrent download management.
* Audacity for audio editing.
* Blender for video editing, video composing, 3D modeling, or 2D
modeling.
* FreeCAD for designing of physical objects or structures/buildings.
* GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus or MyPaint for graphics design.
* Inkscape and Sozi for non-linear presentations ("Prezi-style").
What we cannot do as free software activists is:
* Install, teach or recommend non-free functional data or non-shareable
non-functional data, and that also extends to non-free system
distributions.
* Forget to educate people on the essential freedoms.
