STRAIGHT WIRE
excerpt:
The entire text of Self Analysis, in its original edition now available
from the Foundation in Phoenix, is devoted to rehashing the preclear's past to
show him that it is not quite as dangerous as it is made out to be, and that
it won't bite him if he remembers some things about it.
From this form of Straight Wire we go into a more complicated form as
given in Self Analysis in Scientology, a converted edition of the original
Self Analysis. The edition is converted, by the way, simply by substituting
everywhere in its text for the word "recall" the word "mock up." Simply by
substituting "mock up" in the directions at the beginning of each list, one
has a modern Self Analysis.

Hi maybe you guys can shed a little light on this subject. The self
Analysis book as well as many other self help books I have seen have
long lists that start as "Recall as time when" and then proceeds to
state a happy or pleasurable event in your past. What is the actual
effect of sitting a doing these lists? Just to get you to remember
happy times or does it have a more permanent (rewiring) of the brain
which actually makes one happier by constantly remembering happy
moments for the past? Thanks you for your insights!!
The book, I think, gives the answer to your question - but here's mine anyway.
The more theta you have - the easier you are able to confront and
handle the reactive mind. Running pleasure moments increases your
theta level and therefore increases ability and confront.
You could also try "mocking up" pleasure moments. I read somewhere
that the first SA book used "mock up" processing and that due to
copyright issues the "recall" SA was then published.
Mocking up aligns with TROM'S Repair of Importances. (RI) - My
personal view is that RI is more effective if "Importances" are used
in the process and not just objects.
