I think I cogged on what repair of importances means or should mean.
What RI means is one of the mysteries of TROM for many. RI s is
one of the first brain fucks.
This is what I think it means.
Suppose you ran out incidents that had the condition or postulate
( program ) of:
I am stupid.
The RI would be ( might be ) ( the ideal replacement postulate ) :
I am very mentally sharp and intelligent.
If you ran out :
I am ugly.
The RI would be:
I am beautiful.
If you ran out:
I am dishonest.
The RI would be:
I always operate with full honesty and integrity.
( If necessary define honesty and integrity for yourself by looking
it up in a dictionary. )
Etc. etc. .
Doing RI s means mentally placing these new desired postulates in a
spherical space around you.
To those who claim to understand TROM , am I correct?
If not , please correct me.
Now on to resolving the next riddle or mystery.
This one has taken me over a year to resolve.
TROM , in the way it is written , is not a bona fide clearing process.
Bona fide means without fraud or deceit.
It may contain a good clearing process, but is not a good clearing
process, it is cleverly hidden in amongst various lies and traps and
mysteries.
Those who say it is clearly written are intellectually and
perceptually dishonest.
Something clearly written means that the subject can be clearly
understood in at most three or four reads.
The energy that even comes off the TROM words tends to fog and numb
the mind.
In contrast to the Direct Perception Method process which gives a
clear and refreshing feeling like a breath of fresh air.

STRAIGHT WIRE
excerpt:
The entire text of Self Analysis, in its original edition now
available
from the Foundation in Phoenix, is devoted to rehashing the
preclear's past to
show him that it is not quite as dangerous as it is made out to be,
and that
it won't bite him if he remembers some things about it.
From this form of Straight Wire we go into a more complicated
form as
given in Self Analysis in Scientology, a converted edition of the
original
Self Analysis. The edition is converted, by the way, simply by
substituting
everywhere in its text for the word "recall" the word "mock up."
Simply by
substituting "mock up" in the directions at the beginning of each
list, one
has a modern Self Analysis.

Hi maybe you guys can shed a little light on this subject. The
self Analysis book as well as many other self help books I have
seen have long lists that start as "Recall as time when" and then
proceeds to state a happy or pleasurable event in your past. What
is the actual effect of sitting a doing these lists? Just to get
you to remember happy times or does it have a more permanent
(rewiring) of the brain which actually makes one happier by
constantly remembering happy moments for the past? Thanks you for
your insights!!
The book, I think, gives the answer to your question - but here's
mine anyway.
The more theta you have - the easier you are able to confront and
handle the reactive mind. Running pleasure moments increases your
theta level and therefore increases ability and confront.
You could also try "mocking up" pleasure moments. I read somewhere
that the first SA book used "mock up" processing and that due to
copyright issues the "recall" SA was then published.
Mocking up aligns with TROM'S Repair of Importances. (RI) - My
personal view is that RI is more effective if "Importances" are used
in the process and not just objects.
