Blainer) Ever see the serpent on a rod as symbol of the medical
profession on a doctor's license plate? The serpent alludes to the
BENIGN serpent Moses raised up on a rod for the Children of Israel to
look upon with faith to be healed of the wounds recieved by the poisonous
vipers that were biting them. Many died, however, because of failure to
take such simple measures as to look upon the benign serpent. A serpent
as a symbol of Jesus Christ is not so far-fetched after all, huh? Didn't
Jesus refer to the Pharisees as "a generation of vipers?" He was
alluding to the vipers of Moses' time, and it was therefore understood
that the benign serpent Moses raised up symbolized Jesus Christ.
Quetzalcoatl was called the serpent God, and had plumes emanating from
his head to symbolize the light that came from Jesus as he ministered to
these people.
