E.g., in an over-arching biblical theology, place Jn 10:10 fairly, squarely in the mainstream of NT descriptive thought
 
Example, as far as Izzy's concerned, denying one's self (e.g.) a week of wedding partying in Cana and renouncing asceticism to follow JC are identical NT theologies (..think about it:

We are followers.  Followers are commanded to deny self.  We are not told to party and the Bible does not portray Jesus as a party animal.
