Thanks Judy.  I cannot find anything saying how many leaders were hung but that is very likely the event to which Paul refers.  It is closer than any other recorded event that I can find..

'preciate your effort.

Hi Terry:
Good to see we've still got a "live one" on TT :)
Just checked the scriptures  It seems that in Numbers 25:4 Moses was told to have the leaders
killed and hang their heads before the Lord -  Then later on in Numbers 25:9 we are told that
23,000 died in the plague; so the total is 24,000 when you add the leaders who were slain
to the ones who died in the plague. They sure paid a price for their whoredoms - didn't they?

Good thing to remember,
Grace and Peace to you and Vee,
Judy

In our home church, we are working our way through Proverbs in the OT
and 1Cor. in the NT.  This week, we will look at I Cor., tenth chapter,
and I am studying ahead so as to have some idea of what we are seeing.

Problem is, Paul says ( verse eight )  that in one day, 23,000 israelis
were killed because of sexual sin on their part, and I cannot find that
information in the OT.  Three thousand died in Exodus 32, but that was
for idolatry, and 24,00 died in Numbers 25, but I can find no record of
the 23,000.
Anyone have any idea?
Terry
