It wasn't Moses who came up with this stuff Slade; God Himself gave Moses the instruction while he was on the Mount ie: tell the Children of Israel to take up a collection, tell them to do this and that.

True and you should know by now that arguing over THIS point is a waste of breath. No one defends the divine craftsmanship of Scripture more than I.

In the meantime, there’s the concept of “What did Moshe include and exclude from the text?” Let’s face it… he [Moshe] was to pattern the Mishkan/Tabernacle by what he saw on Har Sinai. What exactly did he see on the Mount? The text does not tell us; therefore Moshe excluded information. The prophets Isaiah, Ezekiel, and John give us a bit more information. The Tabernacle is a copy of the “Throne” of God. The throne, according to the prophets, is vertical. Moshe “copied” it as best he could, but was forced to make his replica horizontal. The text gives us enough information to get the gist of the function of these items but not enough that we can create [accurate representations and thus] religious icons from them.

I've not studied it enough to draw pictures myself but others have done so and I have seen them.  The colors and materials used for the curtains are all in Exodus 26.  The High Priest had four rows with three stones each in them and the exact stones and the way they should be layed is described in Exodus 28:15-22.  I've also seen replicas of the garments the priests wore.

What you have seen is what the artist thinks it looks like… the artist took the raw text and mixed it with a good dose of imagination.

I think the stones were laid in the same pattern as the camp. You can’t prove me wrong and I can’t prove you wrong. It doesn’t matter and that’s the point.

I don't believe Moses actually "saw the Messiah" but he was obedient to do what he was told in faith ....  judy

Let me reiterate: He was expressive in the function of the thing and gave details when necessary so we could “See Messiah” in the things he helped create.
