1) No verse speaks for itself. They all involve context and require interpretation. John is not throwing the verse out of his bible. John is claiming that you are mis-interpreting (intentionally) the verse. jt: Yes, and the one who interprets is the one who inspired the authors and no prophecy of scripture is for "private interpretation" JH: Are you saying that you were wrong and now agree that no verse speaks for itself? This may be a first. 2) Christ does not hold the covenant. Christ is the fulfillment of the covenant. jt: The Covenant is with Him - through His blood - He is the judge and the one who decides who is in and who is not. JH: I have always thought you were the judge. You are constantly telling others that they do not know God on this forum. In fact anyone that disagrees with you is immediately unsaved. 3) God does change. There was no humanity in God prior to the incarnation. jt: There isn't any humanity in God today either. JH: Then what happenned to it? Did Jesus become human and then when He went back to heaven remove all humaness from Himself? Do you now at least agree that Jesus was human when He walked among us? Do you agree that He was not human prior to the incarnation? Do you realize that this is a pretty major change? Do you realize that if there is no humanity in Christ than you are not covered? Do you realize that you have just removed your own salvation? How does Jesus save Judy? 4) Dealing with sin is not an option? Paul disagrees with you on this backwards and forwards. jt: Where? Chapter and verse in balance and context please? JH: Romans 6-8. Read the whole book of Romans to get the context. 5) Jesus' blood is always effective. Since when is Adam stronger than God Himself? jt: Jesus' blood is not a "rabbits foot" Without repentance it will not avail. JH: Ahh so Jesus' blood is too weak to be effective if no repentance is involved? God Himself is weak? 6) God does say Be Holy as I am holy. There is but one human being who is holy: Jesus Christ. We subject ourselves to Him. Do not confuse your own obedience to be in any way as worthy or effective as Christ's. jt: I'm not the judge of worthiness in myself or anyone else, I am more concerned with obedience to the Word and will of the Father. JH: Any chance you will ever be concerned with the obedience of Christ to His Father or do you not see it as relevant? Would you call the gospel you teach God centered or human centered? judyt as jt and jonathan as JH. This e-mail and any attachments contain confidential and privileged information.
