If sin is the pattern of their life, they are not believers, they do not live by faith and are not saved by faith, no matter how earnestly they claim otherwise.
I think our only difference is the way we say things. This statement above is one to which I would add this thought: the one who has given himself over to iniquity would not be making any kind of claim to salvation -- as a rule.
You write: "My view is that we all continue to sin in spite of our best efforts to lead a sinless life. God has made provision for that. As you say, the blood keeps on cleansing. It is also my view that there is a vast difference between an occasional stumble and walking in iniquity. I view iniquity as intentional defiance of God's command or will, or put another way, sin is the pattern of your life."
With those words in mind, I very much agree with your entire thought.
And, I do not mind people quoting scripture. I do it all the time, do I not? But one should not not do a concordeeeeal (really this should be a word) search on some passage and run with it. I have a simple rule which I really try to follow when it comes to quoting scripture and it is this -- if the author's purpose for writing a particular passage is not the same as mine in quoting it, I am proof-texting.
