This does not mean that we are free to draw our own conclusions in opposition to scripture—we must still keep our theology within scriptural boundaries. This is not problematical for those who don’t want to explain away scriptures they don’t agree with to form doctrines of men.  We do not have a “living, breathing” Bible, as the liberals claim about our Constitution. James tells us that pure and undefiled religion is  ......  benevolent and caring activity.  Is that the full picture of true religion?   I Co 11:6 insists that a woman in church should have her head covered  --  with no regard for the cultural implications of this adominition.    Mark 16:15-18 has Christ giving different wording in the Great Commission than in Matt 28:18-20.   The story of the resurrection morning is told differently in the gospel accounts  -- with no regard to the problems this causes the reader.   john
