I have no qualms about saying that I don't like Jay.  Haven't since he
took over the Tonight Show in 1993.

As for the frenetic opening of Jay's show (at least, compared to Dave/
Conan/Craig), if memory serves that was another remnant of the week or
so he spent doing the show out of Studio 8H in NYC - SNL's setup (and
the makeshift set used on their stage) afforded them a lot more
cameras to play with (including the jib cam), and when they rebuilt
the set in Burbank to more closely match the setup from 8H, they
seemed to add more cameras to match the feel in the NY setup.
