I asked my brother about it (he's chief engineer of a small-market TV station and he personally drove to people's homes to assist them with the digital changeover). Here's his response so far (more to come):
I have never done one, but i know you have to change it from 120hz mode to 60hz mode. I will hit my friend up at the ABC and Fox affiliates down the road (Fox also has this problem). This problem only occurs on shows that are filmed, then telecine'd to video. It only occurs in the 720p format, which both ABC and Fox are. It also only occurs on Sony Bravia TV's. Since this problem is about 2 years old now, I would suspect there is a firmware upgrade that Sony would provide for free, or at least very cheap rate. Will let you know more tomorrow. -- Kevin M.
