Because I also own a Sony Bravia TV, I, too, have been following this
thread with interest.

I've got a problem with the color on my set. It happened a few months
ago, and no jiggling of the controls on my part seems to fix it. I no
longer have the colors yellow and purple, for example, and other colors
may be distorted. It's only the feed through the cable box. The feed
through my VCR/DVD player shows the correct colors (although everyone
looks a little fatter on that feed).

I've been so busy, the problem hasn't become a priority, meaning I
haven't taken the time to do anything about it. I've been planning to
get to it after the first of the year, but now I think I'll report it to
customer service on the Sony website (I looked up its model and serial
number last night) and see what answer I get back.

So, thanks from me, too, Jeff for joining this thread.

Welcome, Jeff, and thanks for all your help to members of the group.
I've been following this thread with interest because we are in the
market for a new TV; Sony Bravia models are now off the short list....

hello all. i joined this happy little group because, well, i don't know
why...other than curiosity. i am kevin's brother as indicated above.
and yes, i am the nicer one!

did this problem just start? is it a brand new sony,or an older one?

one last thing to try...unplug the tv set from the power source, and
also disconnect the antenna. wait 5 minutes. now plug the tv back in,
but not the antenna. turn on the tv and do an initial set-up performing
a channel scan. when that is complete, your set will be reset to
factory null. plug the antenna back in and run a channel scan one more
time. if you are still having problems, well, we just did all you can
do without further information.

my working theory is that something called their PSIP stream corrupted
temporarily, and your tuner got confused, and remained confused. i have
had this happen with my own system where i work.

good luck,

jeff
