Ron, see my previous post on resetting and rescanning your JVC. I am
sure that will fix your problem. When the digital transition
occurred, some stations stayed on their original channel, and some,
like mine, went to a different channel. DTV tuners are not smart
enough to know. While we broadcast on channel 5 and our analog was
channel 5, our temporary channel was 21...even though our encoding
equipment told your TV set that we were on channel 5. It is all
software that maps the channels nowadays. With the click of a mouse I
can tell all my viewers TV's that we are channel 69, if I wish.

Melissa, if your tv has knobs, it is old! lol You just need new
cables from your cable box to your set. I am assuming you are running
component video lines, and with those colors missing, i believe the
"B" line is the offending cable. Please do not waste a huge amount of
money on new cables. Bigger is not better...well, er, uh...in this
case anyway. A cable is a cable is a cable. Believe it or not, every
speaker on my 1500 watt surround sound system is nothing more than
cat5 computer cable, and you can hear the sound 2 blocks away...just
ask my brother.

If shopping for a new TV set, I agree avoiding the Sony is a good
idea. My personal recommendation is the Visio products. Affordable
and they work very well. On the cheaper side, Sanyo makes a very nice
product as well. In my mind, Mitsubishi has the superior video
quality, but they are very pricey. And hopefully it goes without
saying that video, just like audio, is all subjective. So buy what
you like and are comfortable with. Please avoid Mitsubishi DLP
products at all cost though. Total crap.
