I don't know if he is nicer than me. After all, I didn't have to contact him to try to help out the people on the list. Mostly, he is offended that others in his field haven't corrected what he sees as an easy problem to fix. Supposedly, no consumers should be experiencing these sorts of issues because TV stations should have put the solutions into place themselves. His station in Nebraska was one of the first in the nation to switch to digital, and he took it upon himself to personally go to the homes of the sorts of people (no need to list them) who couldn't figure out how to make the switch. According to him, the chief engineer of every small market TV station (and someone on the engineering staff of the larger market stations) is available to take calls from the public and help with any technical problems they may have with the digital switch. If they refuse to do that, feel free to report them to their bosses and demand they be fired (if you approach it from the standpoint of, "I'd like to watch your programing and your advertising, but your engineering staff won't help me," you should see action promptly). -- Kevin M.
