In January 2012 (about the time SoapNET becomes Disney Junior or
whatever it's called), after 41 and 44 years on the year,
respectively, to be replaced by "The Chew," a foodie version of "The
View" hosted by Mario Batali, among others, and "The Revolution," a
health version of "The View" featuring a five-day weight loss
contestant each week and produced by "The Biggest Loser" showrunner JD
Roth (yes, the former host of "Fun House"):

Which will leave "GH" on ABC, "Days" on NBC and "Y&R" and "B&B" on
CBS--meanwhile, strip soaps continue to thrive in the UK and Australia
in early evening time slots--could prime access syndication be the new
frontier, especially with "Wheel" and "Jeopardy!"s hosts nearing
retirement age (and the demos not much older)? Or are soaps just as
deadly in the money demos as game shows?
