Colbert lost the overall ratings to Fallon the week before he went on break, but has come back strong the first three days after the break. In fact, on Wednesday, when John Oliver appeared on the show, he not only beat Fallon in the overall ratings, but he beat him in the demo, too. The monologues have been good this week, focusing on Trump. Besides Oliver, Wednesday’s show has Mike Birbiglia and the director of “The Big Sick.” It’s a good episode. Colbert started a hall of fame for people who have been attacked on Twitter by Trump. Inaudural members are Oliver, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. Additionally, next week is Russia week, where he will have a bunch of bits filmed in Russia. He said they went to the hotel suite where Trump is alleged to have been recorded entertaining prostitutes and said he and his crew took a black light to check for body fluids. Looks like it will be another winning week of shows. Jay Leno, meanwhile, said Trump jokes are getting old. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/06/29/jay-leno-thinks-late-night-anti-trump-jokes-are-getting-old.html Corden is also beating Meyers in overall ratings as well. By the way, how can Corden earn an Emmy nomination? I only have watched the show a few times, tuning in when a guest catches my eye. He’s a terrible interviewer and his comedy bits are usually obvious.
