Quite a few categories there - hopefully not all on at the same time
(YOU would be tired :-) The big question remains "would people contest"?

May be "interesting" to judge things like "business strategy" - sounds
more like a value-add consulting gig. Like you, I've thrown some
suggestions to Nathan & Co, but certainly one of the questions that
needs to be answered & understood is exactly what IS the desired outcome
of the event, and will it help bring people TO the show (which would
always have to be a motivator for the organizers I would think)

Absolutely! Personally I think a $2 trophy would last longer - I visited
Jamie Murray last year & note he still has his "Programme" trophy for
CueBic on display!

Of course, we are still playing in a small pond - I was reading today
about the guy who put up the money for the challenge to get an Intel MAC
to be able to boot WinXP (no virtualization) --> I think it was
something like $18K.

One "goal" of a competition like this should be to be able to use the
results (or the comp) to attract "new blood", beyond what we already
have in the jean-pool today (no, it ISN'T a typo!) - but I don't see how
this can happen (and that is even assuming my "goal" is legitimate)

<snip from another KK post>

Kevin, perhaps the fact that these people DIDN'T sign up for the comp
this year (I hope!?!) says it all. I (obviously?) don't see anything
wrong with tools (some may even remember when BASIC was "the tool!"?) -
you could give me Picasso's paint brush and I still would paint like
crap (hmmm, maybe not the best metaphor, as some would argue he couldn't
paint either :-)

Hope to see you next year!
