It is a bit confusing (maybe even to the auto bug collection). For Ubuntu 24.04 on the desktop the HWE kernel is used. That is done by the installer using the linux-generic-hwe-24.04 meta package. This consists of a bunch of packages related. The "linux-hwe-6.17" is the one of them. The signed was not wrong but we just normally use the more generic one.
