Thanks for the clarification,I didn’t recall seeing linux-hwe-6.17, which is why I double-checked with uname -r.
For additional context, I first started seeing the problems after upgrading from 25.04 to 25.10. I tried several fresh installs, and even switched over to Fedora for a bit, but I was experiencing the same issue there as well. Since the problem seemed to show up on anything running kernel 6.16 and above, I went back to Ubuntu 24.04, which was still on 6.14 at the time, and it was completely stable for me. This most recent installation of 24.04 was a very fresh install for that reason, but the issue came back again after updating and moving to kernel 6.17. I’m here and ready to run any steps you need, including doing fresh installs. Just let me know what information would be most helpful to collect next. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2141225 Title: Kernel panic when connecting USB-C Dell monitors on Ubuntu kernel 6.17.0-14-generic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.17/+bug/2141225/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
