Looks like i was being a total noob before and was running `journalctl -b1` not 
`journalctl -b -1`
Sorry for the mistake

i have now attaced a fresh `journalctl -b -1`

steps taken on this boot

from full power off, power on, login, wait for 1 minute for full boot,
plugin monitors, screen goes black and system stops responding requiring
hardpower off
