I've seen that, but the provisos that always accompany it make me way
too nervous. 
So, IYO, am I better to change the filesystem (with files in place, as
I don't have room to easily back them up) using the Linux tool (what is
that in Ubuntu?) or Partition Magic 8, which I have used successfully in
the past, but I certainly don't know about any shortcomings.
