OK, so file-sharing and writing to the NTFS in Linux aside, what could I
try to just make SC read my files from the NTFS USB HD? Any simple
tips?

I read about and installed (I think..) NTFS-3G but didn't make much
sense of it, trying to mount the HD using it was unsuccessful.

I plugged the HD in while Debian was running and it just showed up, no
idea "how" it's mounted other than that.

For now I'd be satisfied with plugging the HD into my other PC for
adding music, so in that sense Read-only would suffice under Linux, as
long as the obviously necessary Execute permission is enabled..

Sorry for being so confus[ing/ed], I'm just new to all this.
