I you do not need windows connection iteroperability reformat with a native fileformat e.g. ext2 or ext3.
Samba will then not complain about set permissions. If you really need ntfs compatiblility you need to check out ntfs-3g. I have zero experience with this as I do not need the windows interoperability. I can always just share disks via samba in a network. Besides, It would be up my acquaintances to get thier windows boxes on my network if they want my music not for me to unplug my music server so that I can plug it in to thier PC! just my 2 cents. Evaluate the need for NTFS compatiblity and if you really do not need it throw it out. I'm working on getting squeezecenter 7.3 running on a NSLU2 with full debian etch and a 1TB disk to share my music at home. No success jet on squeezecenter but the slug is working well with etch. Maybe I will succeed eventually. Clark connect seems to be a little overkill imo -- [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [email protected]'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21856 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56652 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
