Ok, I decided to go with Xubuntu and now have a different problem. it loaded, but still have power issues.
I'm trying to run xubuntu as a server (for running squeezecenter), and everything seems to work just great until I don't hook up a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. When the computer boots without said devices connected, the computer will not ever go to sleep. I would like the computer to go to sleep after 20 mins or so of inactivity as I have it set up to wake up on lan. With said devices connected, it goes to sleep as desired. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the monitor being connected, not the keyboard and mouse. It seems to work if I just connect the monitor, even if I leave it off, with the little testing I've done. I've thought about server edition rather than desktop, but since I'm so new, I'd really prefer to have the gui setting up the computer and when playing around with settings. Any help is greatly appreciated.
