I don't think Samba is installed by default, but it's obviously a
one-command install from apt-get. There's a bunch of kernel tweaks
(http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/serveredition/features/kernel).
I used the Server version because it's smaller and just has less stuff
by default, then I could add what I needed.
