I recently ripped two CDs with EAC in the Wine emulator. One ripped without a hitch, the other has one track with a 20-second drop-out. I listed to the offending track and it's fine. As I used EAC it started to become very slow to respond and locked up. I recall updating Wine last week to the latest version, so my suspicion is that something broke on the upgrade.
I used EAC for several years under Windows and really like it.
