Julf, with the greatest respect..... The only variable here, according to the OP, was whether a Pi A or Pi B model was used to drive the HiFiBerry DAC. Even if I didn't already know the answer, (and I do, I have the same DAC attached to RPi B, CM, A+, B+ and 2B), I could have predicted the outcome..... Modern digital technology is so much better.... Yes, I agree. But that doesn't stop me being able to correctly identify either a Sabre ES9023 or PCM5xxx (HiFiBerry) attached to a Pi, every time, in a blind test. Subjective, it may be, which is -better-. But playing a recording of a cello solo, I can tell you which is which, every time. Modern digital technology has levelled the playing field somewhat, or at least made the low dollar sigma delta DAC's listen-able, but it hasn't completely levelled the playing field. Anyway, this sort of discussion is heading into audiophool territory, so best left there, me thinks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JackOfAll's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3069 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
