Both PiA and PiB had the Hifiberry (RCA style) installed. However, PiA was connected using an RCA/RCA lead from the Hifiberry to the amplifier. PiB was connected using a 3.5mm/RCA lead from the audio out socket on the Pi board (bypassing the Hifiberry) to the amplifier. I hoped this setup wold compare "better" (Hifiberry audio and wifi network) with "worse" (Pi audio and wired LAN). As mentioned, we could not tell the difference. I am accepting of any undiscerning taste I may possess but not of a cock-up I'm my test arrangements; ) Amplifier is an Aura Evolution and speakers are Linn Saras, both 1990 ish vintage.
