My first HifiBerry (1 or 2 years ago) I sent back because of poor driver support. During these days Daniel explained that they don't even write the driver themselves. The HifiBerry guys can consider themselves lucky to be able to piggyback on IQaudio. Beside that their documentation (still) sucks. It took me quite a while to get the DAC going under ARCH. However. I finally got it working. And right now I'm quite happy - with the SW. Entering the Hifiberry HW modification project now.
