I read the datasheet. Neither there you'll find warnings, nor you find them on the HifiBerry site, nor you find them on IQAudio. What you find is a filter graph that looks much better then the other crappier filters. And that one doesn't work on all sample rates.
If you offer controls as chip manufacturer they CAN be used. If you offer controls as enduser device manufacturer they WILL be used. I'm not aware of any DAC manufacturer who'd offer a device where certain user settings end up into malfunction units. The IQAudio guy realized that much earlier. That's why he limited the volume control. Who seriously wants clipped audio, even though it's offered as feature by the manufacturer. I'm pretty sure nobody really tested all this. That perfectly fits my picture about the HifiBerry folks. ::: ' Touch Toolbox and more' (http://soundcheck-audio.blogspot.com) ::: by soundcheck ------------------------------------------------------------------------ soundcheck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34383 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97046 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
