Thanks Paul - yes, I think you're right. But even if I can't change the
volume without affecting the LMS playback volume I could live with the
sound effects being either
- enabled with the same volume as the current amixer settings, or
- disabled altogether.
The command to change volume on is
Code:
--------------------
amixer set Master xx%
--------------------
'Master' can be replaced with other devices. The only devices that seem
to offer volume control on the Joggler are:
Code:
--------------------
Simple mixer control 'Master',0
Capabilities: pvolume pvolume-joined pswitch pswitch-joined
Playback channels: Mono
Limits: Playback 0 - 31
Mono: Playback 17 [55%] [-21.00dB] [on]
Simple mixer control 'PCM',0
Capabilities: pvolume pswitch
Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right
Limits: Playback 0 - 31
Mono:
Front Left: Playback 31 [100%] [0.00dB] [on]
Front Right: Playback 31 [100%] [0.00dB] [on]
--------------------
For playback via squeezelite these two device volumes seem to be
cumulative: if I set both to 50% it seems like I get half the volume
compared to just one being set to 50%.
So I'm interested in what you say about having a different device. Can
I create an additional 'virtual' device with it's own volume setting,
and route sound effects through that device?
