Sorry Liam, I appreciate your response to my problem. I wrote in haste to this list about my problem when I should have maybe directed it to the "supermacs" list which I am devoted to... In "the recent past" Will S. Robyn and Ford they all been a great help to me. I didn't want to start a fight! Let me try again... 2 Umax S900's and Ibook (Airport base station) "bridged" via Macsense Xrouter Pro to DSL Modem, I have been successful at "sharing" the Epson Stylus 880 (USB Printer sharing) between the OSX Umax and Ibook, now I'd like to "Network" the HP LaserJet 6MP which is connected to one of the 2 Umax's I had mentioned "the dedicated 9.1 system" I have it connected by "localtalk" or serial as I refer it...I want to be able to "see" that printer on the other Umax which is "dedicated Jaguar" and the Ibook. Again all 3 computers are "Hard wired" to the router which also functions as a switched ethernet Hub. The HP LaserJet 6MP uses the following: 1. Localtalk 2. IEEE ECP 1284C (???) 3. IEEE ECP 1284B (Parrallel) and IrDA (infrared) to connect . I have tried "seeing" the printer via OSX's Print Center I loaded the IP address, it accepts the IP but won't print...I loaded the GIMPprint/Ghostprint software "no success". I have a feeling the USB to Parrallel cable is my best bet here. The Farralon PhoneNet Adapters I believe are useless to me at this point and other adapters are to pricey. There had been some discussion about GIMP/10.2 on supermacs recently, but I was not ready to absorb the information given because I just recently have loaded Jaguar and have been delving into the OS when I have the time to. Sometimes we all leave out information when asking for help..I'm guilty of that from time to time.
