> Sorry Liam, I appreciate your response to my problem.

Welcome!

Right. What you've written is a little hard for me to follow. I think you
should try going a little more slowly and taking it step by step, not in
one big rush. Putting things in a numbered list often helps.

So, AFAICT, the HPLJ6 is on an OS 9.1 machine, connected serially. That
machine can print OK, but the OS X machine can't connect to the HP.

You say you've tried connecting to the printer's IP address. Er, how?
Where does a serial printer get an IP address from? Where did you find
this IP address?

> The HP LaserJet 6MP uses the following: 1. Localtalk

Mac serial

2. IEEE ECP 1284C

PC Enhanced Parallel port

> 3. IEEE ECP 1284B (Parrallel)

Standard bidirectional parallel port. Note, in case you're searching the
web or something, that's one "r" in "parallel".

<Tsk tsk> Never mind "no success" - that's not good enough!

What version? How did you try to load it? Did it appear to install OK?
Were you able to run it afterwards?

It's apparently one way to do it. Obviously you'll need USB ports on the
OS X machine - you haven't told us if you have these or not.

I don't think you can readily share a Localtalk printer on classic MacOS,
so I don't know where the IP address you talk about comes into it.
Localtalk doesn't use IP and no addresses are involved.

Well, since you still haven't specified what they are... :)

OS X doesn't support LocalTalk, so any *directly attached device* using
Localtalk won't work.
