I'm a little shaky on this too. Nobody wants to buy a new book and find a bunch of advertising in it. Some people might appreciate the gesture, but many might not. And to do it without permission is shady. You don't want to ask for permission because you know they will almost certainly say no. If they say yes to one group they have to say yes to everyone, and pretty soon you'll have to shake all the Cialis ads out of your new PHP books. Maybe they'll let you put out some cards separately though... Besides, I think UPHPU's interests would be better served by spreading via personal interaction. Find a coworker who is fighting the good fight, tell them about UPHPU, offer to give them a ride to the meeting. Read a PHP blog post by some guy in UT, comment or email him and clue him in. It's more personable and more likely to actually work. There are also 20 people listed on meetup.com as waiting for an SLC PHP Meetup. http://php.meetup.com/cities/us/ut/salt_lake_city/ _______________________________________________ UPHPU mailing list [email protected] http://uphpu.org/mailman/listinfo/uphpu IRC: #uphpu on irc.freenode.net
