Hi Garry..
I dunno what you exactly want..
But for a simple one, maybe just use a Nurbs curve and lay it out in a snaky
way, and set it to renderable and have a High 'Head' radius and a Low 'Tail'
radius....
Otherwise if wanting a more complex one, model a straight lined snake using
SDS (a Cylinder to start from..),
If you need to resize it smoothly from thick to thin at the end :
1. Use the 'Scale' Tool and set Deform --> Deform in function of projection
to an axis Ctrl Curve --> Linear
2. In 'Top' View, First click at the head of the snake, hold down (z Key) to
be able to set the second click exactly at the tail (in a straight line from
the first click, to make the scaling corretly and not get skewed or so.)
3. In 'Front' View, click in middle of the snake (SDS Cylinder), after that
move the mouse, so that the Scaling rectangle encloses the snake (SDS
Cylinder) and click.
4. Now move the mouse towards the center of the snake (SDS Cylinder) and
click
Now Lattice Map the Snake to a 2 point straight Nurbs curve...
Then make a Snaky looking Nurbs curve...
Reconnect the SDS Snake, from the Straight Nurb, to the Snaky Nurb..!
Is it a SDS from which you want to extrude a snake tentacle from ?
Then use same method as above, on a Straight Extruded Face of the SDS..(have
enough resolution of that extruded part)
Also if wanting to Extrude more than ONE tentacle (Then instead make Point
Groups of the different Tentacle parts, and Map each of those Point Groups
to their own 2 point Nurb and reconnect each of those to own Snaky Nurbs...)
If nothing of this is what you want or if it dont make sense.. just
ask..more
and maybe provide an example image on how you want it to look like....
Take Care

Tried various methods , nurbs curves rotate , Stef's
'extrude a tentacle animation' technique , but nothing
that looks snake-like enough .
Is there an easy method to create a realistic looking
snake-like tentacle ?
Thanks In Advance .
