Hi Garry n all..

I am not a manual freaking reading liking guy..
But I do read my manuals(if I like the sw) and I do that at least 1 or 2 times fully directly ! I also bought the printed manual, to be able if having time over, reading it where ever I wanted.. And the Manual isnt that long, compared to most other 3D sw, where you get tons of manuals =), so even I who dont read alot, got through it.. Especially with new sw and sw that seems to have some new ways of working (like RS, it sticks out from the crowd, and mostly this is a very good thing, if it only would add Import/Export that fully lets users interact with other sw...and some other stuff too)

A must is to learn some of the important shortcuts and basic tools, and in RS learning some of them, makes it alot easier learn the others... So I put more effort in learning some tools, and the knowledge I get from that, I can then more easily understand other tools...(which keeps you from having to dig very deep on ALL topics..)

I also customize RS alot, and to my liking, with custom Compass menus, shortcuts keys and so on, to get almost everything reachable in the 'View' Window or close to it..(since it almost completely allows you too)

btw.. the "Odd" parallel lines
(realsoft3d/reference/realsoft3d/tools/deformation/deformation.html#Scale1DDeformationTool)
The first line --> Points close to this gets NO Deformation
Between these two, Deformation increases...
The Second --> Points close to this gets maximum Deformation

Gotta go, and work with my body musclescells, instead of my braincells (the 2)
time for some workingout..

Cya

Take Care

Hi Garry,

I have nothing that works as you describe . I hit the '1' key and
nothing happens . However , if I use 'Scale 1D' tool , I then have
to use some kind of odd parallel lines , and then some kind of a box
appears and _THEN_ it scales the shape ... but nothing as you desc-
ribe (just click , click click {I wish it were !])

No not the '1' but the 'l' from Length. You really didn't know that
shortcut?
I wouldn't be surprised if Version 1.4 (my first RS) had the same shortcut
already.
Maybe you should check out the shortcut section in the manual.
I never use the scale 1D, 2D or 3D as I can't figure out how to use them.
But I ment "normal" scale. Like how it works in any other application.
How are you able to model something without ever using scaling?

Arjo.
