Hi Bernie,
to me it sounds like the path system variable is wrong..
;C:\Programme\Realsoft\Realsoft3D\system;C:\Programme\Realsoft\Realsoft3D;C:\Programme\Realsoft\Realsoft3D\plugins;C:\Programme\drqueue\bin
is mentioned in my tutorial.. which is for a german winxp.. for english it
should be this:
;C:\Program Files\Realsoft\Realsoft3D\system;C:\Program
Files\Realsoft\Realsoft3D;C:\Program
Files\Realsoft\Realsoft3D\plugins;C:\Program Files\drqueue\bin
hopefully it functions then..
in general its not too bad to set this up and in future releases of drqueue
it will be much easier .. and with a simple javascript in V5 you can even
have a send-job button in real.. i guess programming all this for v6 as
inbuild is a ton of work really because its not that trivial to create a
failsave jobmanagement.. and drqueue has even the advantage that it can
manage all your render jobs so the pcs are allways used best.. for example
you can setup a job for RS and afterwards a job for AfterFX which uses the
RS-rendered images etc.. which is cool!
i really hope you get it up and running.. best is to try just one pc first
and when it runs do the rest..
i worry if you dont get it running that my life is in danger ;°) so i?ll
better double check my tut
best regards
Gunnar

Subject: Re: frame or sequence based network rendering - solved (tut)
Hi folks .. especially Bernie ;°)
G'day Gunnar !
WOW ! Onya mate ! VERY impressed - could not download the components fast
enough ;)
However, despite trolling the documentation and forums, tweaking and
setting every variable, ensuring no redundant returns etc in config
files - hours later and I'm no closer to getting it to work. :((
Obviously I've got some stupid mistake somewhere, but it keeps having
errors on master run :
"Getting key for shared memory: no such file or directory"
The concept though of having a "job" system for rendering que is what I've
been harping onto RS for years about.. maybe for v6 if we are lucky.. And
yes - the frame based approach is welcome sight ! ;)
The DrQueue approach is what I would like to see for RS but without the
command line component. ie: Right click view - select "Add to render que"
and it would just save the file, and render that image / animation as
another job on the network. Max has had this sort of functionality since
.. v2 or something ;P
I'll keep fiddling with this DrQueue though..
Thanks heaps for that !
Bernie
