Its using a 3D engine called Irrlicht which sits on top of OGL or DirectX and runs under Windows and Linux. I've been playing with it for a while now plugging it into a BASIC language called FreeBasic (http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3584&start=0). There is no interface that I know of within the package to allow you to synchronize with shutter glasses at the moment.
