Hi akr.rzone : You make valid points , I think . Not much CgTalk voice . I would love to see more CgSphere.com entries , since they are relatively easy to conceptualize and then you have a chance to show the RS ability .
Some very good stuff on the RS.com gallery , but not a lot "out there" . Too bad , because , as you point out , RS is very capable . Well , maybe with V6 there will be more sharing ? We have more tools and more power and more plugins and some awesome 'Menu\Sample' files . Great new JS stuff is be- ing added almost monthly (thanks Zaug!) . I think people need to get into the RS Forum a lot more too . Blockbuster has posted a very good , CgTalk level image there recently that most of us are not even aware of . The Forum is great since it only takes a second to login , and post a positive comment , then leave and get back to your work . It's a useful diversion that you can do when _you_ have the time . Maybe we could start our work in the Forum , get it close via good dialogue , _then_ take it to CgTalk ? Finally , I remember years ago ... I would just shake my head at the images in the back of CGi magazines . They were just soooo bad compared to the stuff that Real3D users here were churning out every single month . A V6 turn-around ? It's possible . cheers garry > > Actually, I thought it was kind of neat. I don't want to be rude, but I realized that whatever stuff one > is posting here, it's at least 'nice', 'neat' or 'good' or even 'very good'. Actually it's more or less senseless to say 'something nice' about a pic when it actually isn't nice. Regarding this image I'm aware of that it was just a quick shoot without great attention and that he's able to do better stuff, of course. But overall I haven't seen any progression in modeling or rendering here in the past years, although RS has so much ca > pabilities.
