Try under
File-->Preferences
Tab: Classes-->Wire Frame for Geometric Objects
MaxTextureWidth
MaxTextureHeight
set it to 2048
set Texture Quality in Properties->Wire tab to "None"
and reload the textures
should give back a 2048x2048 Texture in OGL view
(if the texture is 2048x2048 ;-)

Couldn't get it working at first: I noticed this doesn't work with separate
materials, only with the object texture map. (properties -> col tab)

Thanks

Try to apply this texture I rendered over night, I just wanted to be
sure this trick also works with GI:

For the first time I feel I'm really into that GI testscene ;)
I also saved/post-processed a non-blurred version, it's grainy but it contains more information than the blurred one.
A bit noisy and some distortion at the zenith but it proves the point!
I'll compile all the accumulated info into a little tut, with updated example projects and some extra textures. We'll have to wait for an improved UVimage tool to simplify pano things...

BTW the old HDR plugin works fine in V6 :)
