Partial shadow effects :-?

I don't know what a partial
shadow is. Do you mean, that the
objects overlapping the shadow :-?

@ alpha shadow setup:
I can try to set up a shader.....

But if you need it in one renderpass, maybe the only solution is one
renderchannel with the objects + alpha (maybe defined via identifier)
and a second renderchannel for the "shadowcatcher" with some additional rays
or something like this.....
(much more fiddling, than a second render, where you set the unwanted
objects to "camera invisible")
